On Saturday the Mighty Whites traveled out to the coast on a cold and blustery morning but we were met with a warm welcome from our hosts Grimsby Borough in our first ever encounter. The game was played in good spirits and girls put on an excellent display after a difficult first half. Matilda was our captain for the day and did a great job in encouraging the girls and leading by example. Emily F was back in the goals again netting two with her strike partner Emily H adding four whilst picking up the grown ups player of the match award. Our player of the match award went to Sophia who has been a stalwart in defence for us this season and on Saturday she played the second half in an unfamiliar central midfield role, proving she can be a real threat going forward too, coming very close to scoring on a couple of occasions.
